Moist banana muffins filled with gooey chocolate. These muffins are full of healthy ingredients, and thus, the perfect delicious snack.

  • ½ c. brown sugar
  • ½ c. applesauce (or oil)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 very ripe bananas
  • 1½ c. wheat flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. almond extract
  • ½ c. chocolate chips (optional)
Here's how...
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix the brown sugar and applesauce.
  3. Stir in one egg.
  4. Add the mashed bananas.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the wheat flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  6. Gently mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, just until combined.
  7. Stir in the almond extract and chocolate chips.
  8. Pour into buttered muffin tins and bake of 18-20 minutes.
  9. Cool in pans for 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack.
