Hearty Baked Oatmeal

When you soak this buttery baked goodness with milk or cream, this oatmeal makes breakfast feel more like milk and oatmeal cookies than the usual fare. This oatmeal is baked with fruit, nuts, cinnamon and spice and everything nice and makes one spectacular start to a day.

  • 3 c. old fashioned oats
  • ¾ c. brown sugar
  • 2 heaping tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ c. melted butter
  • 1 c. fruit and/or nuts (apples, raisins, pecans, berries, etc.)
Here's how...
  1. In a large bowl mix oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Make a well in the center and add milk, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Stir all of the ingredients together and add in the melted butter, fruit and nuts.
  4. Pour it into a 9x13" baking dish and bake for 40 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven.
  5. Serve with milk or cream drizzled over the hot oatmeal.
