Addie’s Essential Oil experience:
I was so excited to see that Rocky Mountain Oils released a line formulated just for kids. I was a bit skeptical at first, essential oils are really powerful and there are a lot of them that are not safe at all around kids. I did a breakdown of all of the oils they used in their kids blends, and I was very pleased to see that they are in fact totally safe for Josephine to use. Each oil is diluted to 2%, so I really feel comfortable and confident using them on her. Props to you Rocky Mountain Oils, its so refreshing to see an essential oils company erring on the side of caution!
Aveline will need to wait a couple of years, essential oils are not safe at all for babies under 2, so if you’re still in the baby phase at your house, get a couple for yourself to try them out! That’s what I would do, they smell awesome and you have to make sure they work, right? 😉
Skin Balance: If I had to choose a favorite, this would be it. We have some pretty sensitive skin in our family, it is not uncommon for a random rash to pop. I used to reach for coconut oil, but this blend is amazing as far as soothing and helping it clear up quickly, and it smells SO GOOD. This is by far my favorite smelling blend I’ve used. I cannot recommend this one enough, I will always have it on hand.
Ouchie: This is another favorite over here. I can’t tell you how many times in a day my toddler has some kind of “owie”, be it real or not, she gets excited every time we get to put ” medicine” on it. So far we’ve used it on everything from an angry bee sting, to a bruise on a shin. Definitely will keep this one around as well.
Tummy Time: This one is getting a lot of use, too. Gassy tummies and carsickness have been battled with this oil and it really has helped both. We have started using it as a precautionary measure for Josie when we are going somewhere in the car, along with her sea-bands. This combination seems to be a winner, we have been a couple of months now without having a carsickness episode.
Counting Sheep: We have incorporated this into our bedtime routine for Josie and she looks forward to it every night. It smells so good, and is really calming. I would highly recommend this one for nights when your babies are having a hard time winding down.
Concentrate: We use this oil when we are getting started with our school work in the morning. Its a blend that is formulated to help them focus on the task at hand. Anyone with a toddler knows how difficult that can be, I’m happy for this blend to help me out with that!
Clear head: We have used this blend directly following a tantrum to help her calm down. She takes deep breaths and we put some of this on her wrists and it really helps distract her.
Immunity: This one is a must if you ever go in public, are around anyone, or any germs. 😂 No, but seriously, who doesn’t like having an extra line of defense against germs when you’re going out and about? We use this one very regularly.
Muscle soothe: I haven’t has an opportunity to use this oil on Josie yet, but I have tried it on a pulled shoulder muscle and it feels amazing. I would bet that this oil would be a good one to have around for growing pains.
There are two that I have yet to try, Bug Away and Breathe, Breathe is one that will help calm down a cough.
I will update this post after I get a chance to try them.
I have so many good things to say about Rocky Mountain Oils, I can not recommend them enough. They’re having a huge sale on all of their kids blend oils right now, so head over and check them out!
Alison’s Essential Oil experience:
In my quest for essential oils that I could use for my family and our health, I found a company whose products I can stand behind. After months of research and study, I came across a brand of oils that is pure, organic, and doesn’t require a middle-man for me to acquire. I wasn’t interested in one of the major two companies that squabble over who is best and require me to pay a consultant to buy oils.
Rocky Mountain Oils delivers oils with which I have fallen in love at prices I love even more. I bought a whole bunch before I decided to advertise for them and have tried them all. I am happy to say they have relieved headaches, soothed sore muscles (I even brought them to my massage appointment and my therapist happily used them and liked them!), and I’m pretty sure they stopped a sinus cold dead in its tracks.
Try some. See if you agree. And if you’re not ready to commit, browse the site and see the gazillion symptoms the oils cover and ways to use them in every area of your life. (Click the ad below)
My favorites so far are Peppermint, Black Pepper, Lemon, Tea Tree, Immune Strength, and Lemon.
A great article regarding essential oil safe usage.
