For when you need to start pretending it's not turkey anymore and instead transform it magically into the most delicious soup you've ever had...

Ingredients:
6 cups of chicken broth or stock
5 cups of water
1 box Uncle Ben's Long Grain and Wild Rice mix (chicken flavor) -- or your favorite organic boxed long grain and wild rice mix with seasoning packet
8 slices of bacon
¾ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
½ tsp. poultry seasoning
1 c. flour
½ c. butter
3 cups of whole milk
2 cups of cooked, shredded turkey or chicken.
Here's how...
Put chicken stock and water in a soup pot.
Add in the box of rice and the seasoning packet. Bring to boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 25 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked.
Fry the bacon until crispy, drain and set aside.
Mix together flour, salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning.
Melt the butter and add in the flour/seasoning mixture and whisk together until blended well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add in the milk and whisk continuously until a low boil when it will thicken substantially.
Add about two cups of the broth into the creamy mixture and whisk until well combined. Then, pour it into the big pot and stir.
Add in the turkey or chicken.
Cook until warmed through and thickened, stirring frequently to avoid burning on the bottom of the pot.
Garnish with bacon to serve.

🍁Don't forget to set some butter out to get nice and spreadable for rolls!
🍁Make an extra pie crust and pop it in a freezer bag for that chocolate cream pie you'll crave in a few weeks
🍁Make the most pinned Mac and Cheese on Pinterest! MILLIONS (yup, you read that right) of TWN fans can't be wrong. It's become a staple in lots of homes so if you need that *one more thing,* I've got you.
And one last time before Thanksgiving, here's the recipe!
Ingredients:
1 lb. pasta of your choice
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
4 c. milk
6 c. freshly shredded sharp or white Cheddar
1/2 T. Kosher or sea salt
1/2 T. pepper
2 T. butter
1/2 c. panko bread crumbs
Instructions:
Boil pasta in salted water according to package directions.
Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat. Sprinkle in flour and whisk and cook 2-3 minutes. Add in salt and pepper.
Slowly pour in 4 c. milk whisking until smooth and heating to a low boil until thickened. Do not stop whisking and cooking until thick. Remove from heat.
Grease a 9x13" baking dish and add the hot pasta to the dish. Over the top sprinkle 6 c. of freshly shredded cheese.
Pour the thickened cream sauce over the hot pasta and cheese and let it sit until the cheese melts. Stir everything together.
Melt 2 T. butter over medium heat. Add in panko bread crumbs, stirring constantly 3-5 minutes or until golden brown.
Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the mac and cheese.
Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven 12-15 minutes.

These are the best way you can make Feast Day less stressful. I utilize every opportunity to assemble a dish the days before, and then just bake it just before dinner Thursday. I do this with most of my vegetables and sides and even my apple pies!
If you're in charge of mashed potatoes and don't want to make them fresh during the mad rush Thursday, this is how you win the potato game!! Quite possibly the most delicious potatoes you’ve ever had in your life, these lovelies are full of all the good stuff — bacon, two cheeses, sour cream, and of course, butter.
AND...drumroll please...you can MAKE THEM AHEAD!!!

💥Day 3 of Hosting the Thanksgiving Meal Tips!
Today is a great day for lists and prep work because life doesn't stop to make the feast so a little at a time throughout this week is needed!
Today, I write down all of the things I'm making on which day of the week I've assigned it to (🌟PRO-tip -- save this list for next year!!).
I also add things to my list like tidying the house and setting the table. I will do prep work today like making room in the fridge, make pie crusts, bake sweet potatoes (makes for easier prep of the dish later), chop veggies for stuffing, and cut cheese slices for the appetizer board. Annnnd turkeys get started in their brine bath today to cook tomorrow (see previous post). Don't forget to think of your easiest meals to eat over the next few days while cooking!

🌟Pro-tip for the Saturday before Feast Day:
Now is the time to get your grocery lists made and plan your thawing days for your turkey! We will be thawing our bird(s) ASAP since we cook our turkeys on Tuesday (brine on Monday) and then put them into the fridge in foil pans with their broth and warm them up slowly on Thursday. The juices help keep it beautifully moist, and having it done ahead means we aren't fussing with bird-perfection on the big day!

🍁Need a little something special for this upcoming week, but don't necessarily want pumpkin pie? This is the answer. These are perfect little creamy maple pumpkin cheesecakes full of all the spices of fall layered over a ginger snap crust and topped with a maple whipped cream. We must have THE Mac for Thanksgiving! 🦃+🧀=🧡
Ingredients:
